小室さん、借金トラブル解消を報告
PHILOSニュース英語秋篠宮家の長女・眞子さまとの婚約が宙に浮いた状態となっている小室圭さんが1月22日、延期の理由とされる母・佳代さんの元婚約者との借金トラブル= money dispute について、解決済みということ認識だったと説明を発表しました。
Kei Komuro, Princess Mako’s longtime suitor whose prospective engagement to her is currently up in the air, claimed in a statement that financial troubles blocking the way to his marriage to the princess had already been resolved.

現在、NYで弁護士試験＝ bar examination 合格を目指して勉強中の小室さん。説明の中、小室さんのお母さんが元婚約者に、月賦払いと申し出たことに触れました。

ちなみに「一括払い」は lump-sum payment lump は塊、sum は合計
秋篠宮さまは、昨年11月の会見で『今でも二人が結婚したいという気持ちがあるのであれば、それ相応の対応をするべきだと思います』と厳しい態度をとられています。

そして、「多くの人がそのことを納得し喜んでくれる状況にならなければ、納采の儀を行うことはできません」とはっきりおっしゃいました。
He also said that “it may be necessary to clear up and resolve this problem,” adding that “we cannot hold the official betrothal ceremony” unless the public can “celebrate” the engagement.
